Most of the work related to social justice that I have been involved with revolves around issues of race, gender, and nationality. I have a focus on understanding the impact microaggressions have on the academic productivity of individuals that are not from the dominant culture.  A tool we have used to foment a more inclusive environment is to create tailor workshops and seminars for faculty in the earth sciences, which creates a unique opportunity to have a guided discussion of these issues with colleagues.

My topics of interest within social justices are understanding the barriers for transnational collaboration, help minimize the appropriation of other countries science and investigating academic ethics and misconduct from a social justice framework
